How It All Began
Celebrity Authors on the Beach is an action-oriented voluntary group of authors who wish to share their knowledge, wisdom, and experience with writers of all ages to foster the growth and prosperity of all involved in the writing, publishing, and promotion of books.
The inspiration for this writer’s conference began during an Accent interview conducted by The Daytona Beach News-Journal and published September 27, 2012. The article headlined as “WRITE ON - These local octogenarian authors aren’t slowing down” with a large color photo of elder authors Al Oickle and William Cummins holding their published books.
During the interview Mr. Cummins began wondering how elder authors could pass on their writing secrets and the catchy title, “We Never Told You This by Elder Authors,” came to mind. After inviting other authors to join him the group decided to expand the idea beyond elder authors and changed the name to “Celebrity Authors on the Beach.”
The goal of Celebrity Authors is to provide inside information that will move writers to take action as experts and entrepreneurs. Secrets the authors have never told about how to make a difference through writing. The exact steps used in their own businesses which enabled them to make large-scale impacts that affected other people’s lives.
The committee pursued the idea and with help from a great support team selected Saturday November 16, 2013, for the first conference in the beautiful Daytona Beach News-Journal Center.
Writers of all ages are invited as guests to enjoy the conference. Hopefully, they will put many of the writing secrets they learn into their personal wriiting efforts.
